That would be ok, just have good water movement.

Plenty of people run tanks with no filters, it just takes good water movement, dilligent water changes, and periodic water parameter monitoring.

I say go for it

For what? A paper weight?

The nano fission skimmer does nothing but add bubbles to the tank.

well, not a paper weight...no. If that isn't a good one, then look around for a better one that does work, but if you're suggesting that no small skimmer will work on a nano reef, and benefit it...that's just plain wrong. I've seen otherwise.

I can speak from experience that the fission skimmer is worthless, so don't waste your money. I do not run a skimmer on my 12g nano, and I have had no problems. Water changes on a nano are so simple to do, if you do them regularly you really do not need a skimmer IMO.

No, I was just saying that the nano fission was garbage. If you're looking for a small HOB skimmer, the AquaC Remora's are pretty good, also I believe tunze makes a mini in-tank style skimmer that people swear by.
