NO flourescent bulbs on a vho ballast

I am in need of some temporary lighting, I have a pfo ballast and no bulbs. I do not want to spend the $ on bulbs that I will be only using for +/- a month.

So the question is can I run regular normal 40 watt flourescent bulbs on the pfo, sort of overdrive them so to speak?

Thought I would throw this out to RC before I tried it. I have posted in the lighting forum as well. Need a fast answer the lighting I am using was borrowed for the weekend only and need to have something in place by AM

Thanks,

Tom

I've done that with an IceCap 430 before, but I don't know if it will work with a PFO. Bulbs don't last as long because they are being overdriven with the Icecap.
