Should I rinse this new sand I bought for my refugium?
I am about to install my new sump and refugium and bought a 10lb bag of Nature's Ocean and a 5lb bag of Caribsea sand for my fuge.
My question is, before putting this sand in my new refugium should I rinse it? Or should I be okay? I've never done this...what is the best way of doing this? Btw, my tank (72g) has been up and running for over 1.5years on a wet dry and I have around 100lbs of live rock. |

Put it in a bucket and shove a hose all the way down to the bottom of it, turn on the water and let it overflow for about 30min, mixing it up every 4-5min.

I rinse everything with clean salt water. Especially in this hobby, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!
