Drilled Rear Wall Question

Hey guys,

Been planning a larger tank for awhile now and was going to get a Reef Ready predrilled tank where the bottom pane is drilled. However, I found a great deal locally on a used tank that has a 2.5" hole in the upper left hand corner on the rear glass.

My question is, what are the pros/cons of having the bottom vs the rear glass panes drilled? Would I be able to make an overflow that is just as quiet and efficient with the hole being in the back vs on the bottom?

Thx in advance!
