filter sock
I was told by a LFS that I could use a women's stocking as a filter sock. Is that true? Is anyone doing that. Is there anything else that may be better?

not as filtration, I use them for carbon and such, but a nylon stocking isn't going to remove the fine particles. Most store bought filter socks are broken down into how many microns they trap, my guess on a stocking would be "not enough"

You can put filter medium in a stocking. It can't be used as a filter in itself.

I use them myself and they work great for me.
Due to the cost, I replace them every day and my water is clear. |
