Thinking of getting RO system
So I am thinking of getting an RO system for myself, and am wondering about a few things.
1. Many people say to use the Brute line from rubbermaid for RO storage, because it's food grade. Let me know if this is a good solution, or if I need something else. 2. Does anyone drink there RO, I know you can buy add on tanks so that your system runs through a tap, but I don't feel like spending another $150 right off the bat for that. So really is the Brute container clean enough to drink/cook out of. 3. What are some concerns, and advice for a new RO user such as myself. Thanks everyone for helping me out, -Tony |

The brute is a good option for topoff and replacement water storage but drinking it is not wise. For drinking you want a sealed pressurized system so there is no chance of contaminants getting into the water.
Spend the money and get a good reef quality system then add a drinking water kit, not the other way around. A drinking water system normally does not have the same quality filters and components that a reef system does and you end up paying more to upgrade it to reef quality than you would by buying a reef system and adding the drinking water kit. This system in the 75 GPD is a good option: http://www.buckeyefieldsupply.com/sh...ry=171&Sub=166 As would this one plus the add on drinking water kit: http://www.purelyh2o.com/product.php...cat=249&page=1 http://www.purelyh2o.com/product.php...cat=281&page=1 |
