thefilterguys RO/DI question
I was looking to purchase one of their RO/DI units, basically looking at the $135 model and $160 model. The only difference I see is that the more expensive one has a full size DI housing, how beneficial is that and is it worth the extra money?

All the resin will fall down to the bottom and become ineffective in a horizontal configuration.
With the standard 10" housing (the $160 unit), it's forced through a canister inside the housing from the bottom up, using all of the media. Spend the dough and get the 10" housing for the DI, you won't regret it.

The full size vertical DI is worth the price difference alone but you also get an autoshutoff valve. You will need this if you plan on any sort of auto topoff system or installing a shutoff. It stops the flow from both the good or product water and the waste or brine water when it senses backpresure on the good line.
