Whole Tank Acclimation?

Just a thought, when my 180 is completely set up and cycled, could I run a small pump like a mj900 from the 180 to my current 65 and a mj900 from my 65 to the 180 and let them both run for a couple hours to blend the water in both tanks? Then I could just transfer the livestock without any drip acclimation or stress.

What do you think?

well u need to drip acclimate to get the salinity levels balanced out from the water they came so this would be like the same thing as ddin ur fish right to ur 180 with out even acclimating

It does sound like it should work, maybe even smaller pumps though. The mj900's might be too fast.

Yeah sounds like a good idea, but I would probably run something smaller in gph also.

The only problem I see in that is if one pump pumps slightly faster thatn that other could have an overfill. Just a thought

good point Drag Racer. If you are home, and you're keeping an eye on it, it sound like it should work. I probably wouldn't leave home though... just in case

sounds like something I would do and then either cheer about how well it went and how easy it was.. or cry about how I lost so much being reckless.. LOL.. I hope it goes well for you, it should work.
