Need help
Hello all,
Let me introduce myself as this is my first post on the web site. I've been roaming the website for a while now, but now that I started my Red Sea Max, I expect to have lots of questions. Anyways, this is my first experience with a salt water tank, and I need all of your guys help to make this experience a successful and enjoyable experience. The first question I have, and I can't seem to find any post related to this, is with my live rock and the glass on the aquarium. I have had the tank up for four month and I have purple and pink coralline growing but the question is there such a thing as green coralline it seem that the LR is cover also with the green encrusting stuff and both are on the tank glass and back wall big circles tiny dots everything seem to be going fine. The water parameters are as follow PH 8.3, Alk 5.0, NO2 0, NO3 10, NO3 10, Po4 0, CA 450 SP 1.026 and the temp is 78.6 always the pumps are running, the skimmer lots of foam (brownish Color) going, and the lighting intervals like advised by RSM. Also I have a Zoomed powersweep 212 running. I am planning to get a koralia 1. Anybody knows if there is green color coralline if not coralline what is this? Suggestions from anyone? I'm thinking, maybe the soup dish fill cheato some how the cheato got on the rocks and the back wall and is growing not sure, so any help is really appreciated. Thanks reef@305 |

uh, if it was cheato, you'd know it. Very distinct look to it. And it doesn't encrust at all. Probably just typical algae growth. Should go away or at least subside quite a bit once the tank has matured a little longer. Keeping nutrient export working at a maximum will also help out alot.
and getting rid of the powesweep for a koralia will help both the tank and your nerves. Those powersweeps are a freakin' joke.
