Wave Maker Powerheads
What powerheads besides maxi jets can be used on wave makers? I was looking into koralias, and tunze nano stream. I would like some info if they are possible to mod to work with wave makers. If not please recommend me a powerhead that would work on wave makers.

The unmodded MaxiJets can be used on a wave maker, but you're not going to get that much flow out of them.
Most AC powerheads are crappy on wave makers. They sometimes spin the wrong direction and reversing the flow. Most of them have stoppers to help them spin the correct direction, but they can be pretty noisy when they startup. You'll find that only a few will use them (successfully) on a wavemaker. I wouldn't recommend using the Koralias on a wavemaker either. You might be able to get away with it if you extend the back/forth flow time (10min or more), but mine just get stuck in the reverse direction. I prefer to point them at each other to get a really random flow. The Tunze Nano Stream 6055 can be used on a wavemaker. This will be on my Christmas list!!! =) You can, of course, get the Tunze Turbelle Stream (the controllable ones). =P |

Do the tunze nano streams have a hard time restarting?
