Need something in my sand

I feel that my sand is void of life. About 8 years ago, I had tons of bristle worms in my sand. I thought they were bad, but from what I see on RC, they are good. I have since started a new tank and have nothing in my sand. Is there anything I can order or but that will keep my sandbed mixed up and thriving? All I have now is snails, crabs, and a blenny.

What kind of sand do you have? Silica sand, arogonite, ?? Did you start with live sand?

I have 140 pounds of aragonite (live sand in a bag) that I got from Drs. Foster/Smith. I dont expect anything live in the sand. I also have 70 pounds of uncured base rock that I bought at the same time. I would have hoped something live would have came on that. Nothing. I did scrub the rock before placing it into the tank. That is when I first started the tank. I have been seeding the tank for coraline but nothing so far.

Just want to claify my last post. Seeding the tank is not the same issue that I am looking to solve. Should I just go to my LFS and buy a few pounds of live sand from a tank? At this point I would be happy having bristle worms or anyhing in my sand. I dont even have the aptasia on my rocks (which is always a good thing). I just want some life in the sand/rocks.

Just get some sand from fellow reefers or a lfs. You don't need much.

Try some Garf Grunge from Garf dot com. They sell it to do precisely what you are wanting.

I am buying about 5-10lbs myself. I started my tank up again using dry aragonite and my 120lbs of rock that had been dry for a year. I put in a couple punds of live reef rubble and the grunge will get it all back to being alive again and a heck of a lot cheaper than buying LR again. Just takes a little longer.
