sump ?s

well i just built my first sump it wasn't as hard as it looked, but thanks to melvesreef.com and all his resources i've accomplished the 41gallon sump for my new 90 gallon reef tank!!! anyways the sump is broken into 5 cambers drain, refuge(12.2 gal) frag(6.5 gal) skimmer(4.5 gal) and a return. i wanted some advice on what to put in refuge 4" deep sand bed or miracle mud? Ive never used miracle mud so i was wondering if anyone could shed some advice who has used it?

lastly should i have a powerhead in the frag tank for more flow or is the 300 gal per hour flowing thru that part of the sump enough?

Ok, for the fuge, I would go with a DSB (4-6") and chaeto macroalgae. I thought mud was for mangroves, but I could be wrong.

As for the frag area, just use eggcrating. Being that it is a 6.5g frag tank, I think that 300gph is more than enough. HTH

I would stick with the 300gph. What do you intend to have in that frag tank?
