What do people think about Seio for flow in a sps tank

Currently I have a 46 gallon bow front tank that is primarily SPS. For flow I have a mag 7 as a return pump from my sump, it is hooked up to a scwd, I also have two maxi-jets in the tank a 900 and 1200. All the contents in the tank will be tranferred over to a 40 gallon breeder that is currently in the build stage (tired of the bow look).

I would like something that alternates flow in the new tank, but want to ditch the scwd as I do not want anything hanging on the back of the tank. I would also like to minimize the amount of pumps/junk in the tank, so I had the 40 breeder tank drilled. I will use my mag 7 as a return, but was curious what else I should use for flow.

I noticed that the seio pumps rotate to a certain degree. Would this be a good alternative to a scwd for alternating current? Other recommendations welcome. Trying to go for a clean look here.

Thanks!

I’m looking at two alternatives to improve the flow in my 75-gallon tank:

• Sure-Grip 50 Magnets to hold Maxi-Jet pumps (http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...pc=1&N=0&Nty=1). The advantage of a Maxi-Jet power head is that it can be mounted with its outlet pointed parallel to the glass. It has slots on the sides as well as the back to accommodate mounting brackets. With a controller, you can alternate two pumps.

• Ecotech Marine VorTech Propeller Pumps with Controller (http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...pc=1&N=0&Nty=1).

A lot of people don't like the Seios because they're not as effiecient as some of the other pumps but I like them. I have a hodge-podge of poweheads in my tank including 2 seios. The only downside is that they are too heavy to be supported by the suctions cups the come with so you have to use the hanging bracket or get a mag mount. In my new 120g setup I'll have 3 seios, 2 Koralia 4's, a modded MJ900 and a Tunze 6045.
