live rock, where to order
okay, it official, all LR I can find in my area SUCKS! So now I think I will order that 40 pounds of NICE LR Ive been wanting. so now I have to decide on where to get this rock. I was thinking about getting it from one of these places
liveaquaria (have heard their rock is ugly) e-tropicals (is their carribian LR any good?) premium aquatics (heard only good things about them) any other good places? I am trying to find nice rock with good shapes and good prices. I was thinking of getting 40lbs of PAs nano rock. |

i've heard liveaquaria isn't very good lately. I got mine from petsolutions and it was pretty good. Good shapes with a lot of life

tampa bay saltwater is as good as it gets for live rock.. I recently set up a 135 with it and i love it, from this point on only tbs for me...my previous tank i ordered from live aquaria and wouldn't do it again..the rock itself is nice as far as the shapes but not a lot of LIFE when i got it and has NEVER looked like the pics posted on their website.

I'll 2nd Tampa Bay Saltwater, I love that place. It's about an hour and a half drive from my house so I can pick up shipments myself for one, but the amounts of life (and hitchikers-good and bad) is amazing. Lots of mantis shrimp, which could be a plus or minus. Shapes of rocks isn't as extravagant...lots of big, dense, boulder pieces. Customer service is excellent and with the exception of the shape of the rock (which really isn't that bad...just the only complaint I can think of) you will in no way be disappointed.

after looking around I think I am going to order 40 lbs of nano live rock from premium aquatics. I looked at the other places, but none had any LR that really jumped at me. I will be asking for interestingly shaped LR for aquascaping, as well as at least 10 lbs of fiji LR.

can't go wrong with some marcorocks seeded with some cherry picked LR.... plus really easy to aquascape with the dry rock.
my newest tank 90% marcorocks ![]() |
