HOB Skimmer for 20G Hex tank

The sides can accommodate about 8 1/4 in. into the tank and I want to spend around $200 or less. Right now I have a Remora Pro with a Mag 7 and while the skimmate results are adequate the heat generated in such a small volume of water is causing all kinds of problems. I'm thinking about the regular Remora w/ Maxi 1200 but I'm not so sure I'll be happy with the resulting skimmate. Any suggestions? Maybe a cooler pump for the Remora Pro? I tried the Mag 3 and was disappointed with the results.

Try either a D&D marine Typhoon or a turboflotor (get that used, much cheaper) The MCE600 is ~$500

I have a Deltec MCE300 on my 20GH. A little finicky and pricey ($300), but does a great job (Very dark skimmate). I would recommend the MCE300, but it is the only HOB skimmer that I've ever had so I can't really compare it with others.

Good luck.
