I use the aquaripure with my 75g system. Took about 6 weeks for my NO3 to drop from 10ppm to 0. Been running for two years now. My NO3 has never read higher than 0. I quit feeding the denitrator about a year ago. I don't think that it is required.
I should point out that I have a 20g fuge as well.

I've been using the sulfur type denitrator and no maintenance for 6 months now. Hear that it will be maintenance free for at least another year before I need to change the media.

This should have been in the original post, but I will ask now and hope everyone that replies adds their answer to this part of the question also...
How often do you do water changes and what percent do you change out? |

O!! Confession time.
A water change was one of the biggest factors in the decision to get a dinitrator. Life in our family here can be busy, especially during the summer. I try, and I emphasize, try to change 10g of water every month. During the summer, it can fall behind. During the winter, I generally get the pace up a bit.

I have the sulfur Korallin biodinitrator and I am very happy with it. I change 20% every two weeks.

I am happy to hear that you had good results with your aquaripure. I just purchased one about 10 days ago. My nitrates are super high (160+). Maybe I'll see them at zero in two or three months! With regular water changes, of course!
