29 gallon mod:Bad idea?

i saw on onther forum that someone took a 29 and cut the front off it the cut it to fit where the top is on a normal 29..so when its laid down to make a cube-like tank..i was thinking about doing this since i have a 29 laying around but was wondering if maybe its a bad idea if how the old front or back would be the new bottom and it would have no trim....would bracing be necessary or could you go rimless?...thanks for any input!

It would probably be a bad idea. Will the tank hold water? Maybe, though it's not usually recommended to mess with the braces (those long seams that would be on the bottom may split after time). I feel you might have more of an issue with cutting out that front panel (with keeping the edges nice/not breaking anything). Just my opinion...
