yeah Fintastic is awesome but very pricy, i usually only use them for fish and i'm ordering a tank from them now. For coral I really like Coral Dynamics up by concord mills.

Fintastic's have been my priority since, but we had a "falling out"
Coral Dynamics is reallly far from where i live. Anyone heard of Nemo Fish? or been to petland? I hear they have SW. |

petland in the Arboretum sucks, their corals aren't terrible the last time I was there but the tanks they keep their fish in look nasty. Don't go there to buy equipment either, thats really pricey.
I'm going to have to try out coral dynamics because fintastic's prices on corals are way too high. |

WetPets in Gastonia is great. They are on 74 (same road as franklin blvd in gastonia and wilkinson blvd in charlotte) right behind the old media play. Most of his coral's are 45 bucks. Some real nice ones for the price too. David is a real nice guy and has great live rock too. His rock's have ton's of life on them and are covered in coraline. I was out of the hobby for 9 years but even in 98 he had good live rock.

yeah petland is within walking distance from my house and it absolutely sucks. Probably the worst SW section i've every seen in my life in person.
Yeah coral dynamics is great, most of his frags are 15 bucks with the nicer onces being 20 or 25. They are definitly the best prices in town. They guy that runs it is very nice to and always willing to offer advice. The store is small and most of the tanks are held up by 2x4's and stuff but the coral selection is unreal. Fintastic is more appealing to businesses that want a tank maintained and cared for and they just feed the fish everyday. I do love fintastic though, i'm actually about to go there to order my Oceanic Tech 120. They are pricey but their fish selection is unbeatable. I always quarantine but i'm starting to doubt that i need to with their fish, i've bought tons of fish from them and never had a problem. Even if you aren't going to buy anything fintastic is great to visit just to see what a nice store it is.

I went to Nemo Fish and Petland before the Panthers game, I agree about Petland, They have sick fish but their corals are decent and prices are okay, the employees know nothing though.
Nemo Fish has the best prices i've seen, Premium Fiji and Vanautu live rock for 6 dollars a pound, I bought a good healthy looking Zoanthid rock and a 6 line wrasse. |
