New Light Problem

I just got my USA dual satellite light today.
It is a 24" 2x65 watt.
I plugged it in and the daylight (6700&10k) work fine.
I switched the actinic on and I think one side of the bulb is broke. (it's the 50/50 bulbs)
However, I am not positive because the other light is so bright I don't know if it is overpowering the other one to where you can't see it.
I know you can visually see a huge difference between the daylight and it almost seems as one side is being lit by the other.
Any ideas if it is really broke or it is me?

if the actinic 50/50 is working you will see it it is preety bright so you mst have a broken bulb not uncommon for me and new fixtures anyhow

Well only 1 side of the 50/50 actinic is lit. Is it possible for only one side to be broke?

The whole bulb should light as one unit. There's only one electrical path through it. The difference is in the phosphors on the glass, not the gasses inside the tube.

In a 50/50 bulb you should one side bright white and the other side is a purpleish tint, not really all that bright. Usually can't really tell its working. The electrical pass is thru the base of the bulb, so you could have one side not working, though I think it probably is working. good luck
