2 Koralia 4's too much?

For a 60 Gallon Cube? And where would you place them? I want to have them on the back glass as i like to view from 3 sides and don't want them on the sides or front.

Please respond with suggestions.

if you have BB, place them low on the back glass pointing towards the middle of the front... if you have sand, similar, but you'll most likely have to have them high up to avoid a sand storm.

2 Koralia 4's will be to much for a 60g cube and will look big in there. I have 2 on my 150 and they push a lot of water. I would consider the 3's or even the 2's if you have a big return.

Too much for what? What are you keeping in the tank as far as corals?

Too much too keep the sand in place and blasting corals. They will produce too much enclosed flow in a 60 cube

It depends on placing and the contents of your tank. I have equal to (tunze) 2 koralia 4's and 1 koralia 2 in a 55 gallon.

I'm assuming your 55 is not a cube unlike the 60 cube we are discussing

Try having their stream cross if theres is too much flow.

True, mine is not a cube.

Lots of coral and stone formations will reduce the flow. you can also try putting some flat rock where sand is whirling up....

Coral and rock will reduce flow but not so much to extinguish the force of 2 koralia 4's in a cube. The flow will bounce of the glass unless you directly aim in the rock. If you do that you may aswell get less powerful Korallias positioned more sensibly. Plus, they are BIG powerheads and will look big in a 60 cube

For corals it will be all sps.

What i forgot to say was that i already have them. And for now i have them positioned on each side, one half way up on the back left pointing slightly down and toward the middle, and one on the upper right back pointing slightly up and toward the middle. My LR is basically a mountain design in the middle from back to front with room on both sides and front.

Right now it seems to move the water quite well and they kind of work together. And i have no substrate moving around and i have around 4-5 inches mixes grains crushed coral and live sand.

It sounds like it is ok so far. A problem may arise when you place your SPS. Make sure the powerheads dont blast directly onto the coral. It will most likely kill it. Good luck

I would go with the 3's instead I have 2 4's in my 120 gallon and I still get a little sand blowing once and a while

as far as blasting corals, thats why you bounce the flow off the front panel of glass...

Not so easy when you have 2 large powerheads in a cube with a central mountain.
All I was saying is that I think 2 4's would be too much. Yes you can bounce the flow off the glass. Essentially, that means you are using powerheads too powerful for the size of tank and therefore need to ramp them down. Why not just install appropriate sized ones in the first place and have more control over flow direction.
