I have had a clown tang for 2 yrs in a 180 gal reef tank...he has a yellow tang and a fuji foxface to contend with....once the initial stress of being introduced in the tank, I have had no problems keeping this fish, he was introduced into the tank at about 2 1/2 inches, he is over 6 inches now.

Well I just took a peek in my book Marine Fishes and I have some info for you:

Max Length: 15in
Minimum Aquarium Size: 180g

Aquarium Suitability: 3/5
Reef Compatibility: Generally safe; may nip at LPS if underfed

It has a larger caudal peduncle spine than almost all [tangs] - and a hair-trigger willingness to use it. Will attack other species with similar food habits or shape. Very active; needs lots of unobstructed swimming room and clean, highly oxygenated seawater.

i'd say that 100 is too small.

they need a lot of room to swim, like fast current, clean water (like sps), and high oxygenation.

people seem to have better luck with sohal tangs (like the one in the RC logo).

Well, if you knew the answer, why did you post? You post every week about Tangs, looking for information, but you never listen. You keep wasting others time. I think you just A TROll. I would like to see a picture of your cousin's tank. I think your full of it.

A 15" tang and a 9" tang in a 90g? There is a lot more potential for trouble as those tangs get larger. According to Marine Fishes clown tangs are by far one of the most aggressive of their species...

Take it or leave it, it's your tank.

How many times are you going to start threads like this?

Do some research before you buy something for once, please.

Your 100g is WAY TOO SMALL for most tangs, if not all. A clown tang especially.

My 500g is too small for a Clown Tang.
