Poll: Which skimmer for my 220?
I have a moderatly stocked 220 mixed reef with fish that will be growing large so I need some advice as to an efficient skimmer. I run a Tunze 9010 now that I brought over from a smaller tank. I know it is not enough skimming but it actually is doing ok for now.
Footprint and height are concerns. In sump model is preferred. Please comment on skimmers based on your experience not what you have heard please

BTW, that was supposed to be the Mini Bubble King 200, not the 160.

I am sure that the Bubble King is a great skimmer, it has gotten great reviews but I am not so sure that I really need it.
I have always had a low amount of skimmate due to the fact that I run a large refuge and do a lot of water changes.

Guys, any suggestions for a skimmer with a smaller footprint and shorter then 28" useful for a 220 tank?
I need some ideas and observations.

I have not seen any posts like that. I have a first wave model BM 250 and its been running great!
ORP is rock steady at 390's Must be thats its not skimming. I vote ATI 250 and if you could afford the Loot then the BK 200 Deluxe Quote:

The only problem that I've perceived with the BM250 in the threads is when one uses this skimmer on too small a system and the biload is too light. The skimmer cannot form a good foamhead in this situation, so proper size is important. Recommended minimum size that I've seen in several post needs to be 200g, so your 220g with the small footprint you're looking for.
Dimensions: 13.4"L x 9.5"W x 21.2"H I also agree that if you can afford a Bubbleking, go with the BK200 Deluxe. But wait a little while until more people have feedback on them. |

Since there's a few BM250 owners on this thread, maybe some of you have some advice for this guy:

Looks like he found the help he needed. I have never seen that either out of all the ATI threads i have seen. (Almost all of them)

There's only a handful of skimmers that really perform well for each size tank. The rest just fades compared to the high performers. From everything I read and a few have posted on this thread, the ATi BM250 seems the best match for your system with room for upgrade in the future too.
