Heating question
whats the cheapest way to heat my 300gallon pond???
its outdoors under the patio oning actually the first question is how many watts will i need to heat it |

A good rule is 5 watts per gallon, at least in an aquarium. You might need more for an outdoor pond.

They don't sell heaters that big Just kidding.
If your anywhere where it gets really cold, I would look into a pool heater if it could be customized to not boil the pond. I'm not sure how they work or how much they cost. Go to a landscaping place and see what they do. Matt

you could use a pool heater, but it will be overkill, and run you between 500-100 bux. I would look at maybe a hot tub heatee...look for something that is rated for a hot tub of 300 gallons. Should work great, just plumb your lines to it, and wire up a temp controller. If i wanted i could possibly price one out for you, we run a swimming pool buisness and can get preety much anything...otherwise check out ebay
