IN-WALL Advice Please!

When other in-wallers say that their tank is flush with the drywall, does that mean that a small % of the tank is actually resting on drywall instead of the wooden stand?

The reason I ask is because I am at that crossroad now. With the tank sitting on the stand in the wall, it is not flush unless I move the tank a little closer to the drywall.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The glass should touch the back of the drywall. So it would be 1/2" deeper than the actual wall.

That's how mine is anyways.

So how do you keep the glass of the aquarium flush?

My 125 is flush with the drywall, but there is a catch... When you build the stand, the bottom sheet of plywood and foam that the aquarium sits on must be flush with the drywall and you will see this edge. You could use a hard waterproof filler and blend this with the drywall, but I just used door trim and picture framed it.

Fabrication and a good trim can make it appear flush

I covered the drywall edge with 3/4" aluminium as my trim.

in wall

I used 3/4 or 1/2" L moulding. It covers the exposed edge and gives the aquarium that framed picture look. This is a pic from one side. It is also open on other side.
