Freshwater Test Kit?

I have a freshwater master test kit for API to test ammonia, trites and trates.....will it work in SW? Or will I have to buy one of the SW reef test kits?
I don't know if there is different reagnent or something because of the salt or w/e.

you will need a different kit for saltwater. I would also reccomend getting salifert test kits. API are not that accurate.

I always thought the test kits were universal.

Some of the tests will work on both. Check the instructions/color cards to see which ones.
