Plumbing questions
I have a question about plumbing some aquariums together. I want to plumb a series of filtration tanks for an SPS tank. I want it to be 3 levels first level will be 20 gallon coral frag tank second 20 gallon refugium and finally a bigger tank with live rock and a skimmer. The tanks are all drilled in the back so it wont be a problem creating a loop. Only thing im concerned about is, In event of power failure how do i prevent a flood? Is their something i could add in the plumbing to break syphon if the reurn pump isnt working?

What about installing ball or gate valves, that way you can regulate your flow.

Simply place "standpipes" for drains and add a check valve for the return. Here is a link to one on MD.
