CPR Hang-on Refugium vs Aquaclear 110 mod?
Looking to use one of these two on a 37g column tank.
Anyone with a preference for one vs the other? |

The CPR AquaFuges are very nice and work really well.

I use the AC110 on my 10G tank, haven't used the CPR. The AC110 works well, in my opinion, and puts out a lot of flow across the top of the water, forcing water to hit the front glass, go down, across the bottom, up the back wall, repeat. The mod grating keeps chaeto inside pretty well... no complaints. The sides of the AC are tinted slightly, so if necessary you could have a light shining through the sides onto the macroalgae. Better, just have a light mounted over the top. The CPR may be better, I don't know, but I'm happy with the AC

I have both--the CPR on my 29g and the AC on my 7g. The CPR has more room for algae and built more sturdy. The AC has more flow and you can control the amount of flow with a quick push of the knob. If you have enough flow in your tank, I'd go with the CPR.
