Poor Zoo's

Well its been 2 weeks now, colony of 30 polyps down to 10 polyps left. we removed a sundial snail 4 days ago and even after he was gone, 7 more polyps vanished. i dont think its our alk or parameters either , alk has been stable between 10-11 dkh but cal is a bit low right now, wonder if cal would do that?currently at 370-390 and bumping it with the part 2. but its only the zoos being affected.

We did put new bulbs in about 2 weeks prior to the zoos closing and disappearing, took rock out inspected it, cant find any nudis or crabs or anything, so kinda at a lost here.

I know zoos can be tempermental at times, but when a colony is vansihing, has to be something eating them yes?

We did also about same time we changed lights out , put in a phos reactor and dropped phos from .1 to 0 in 4 days. would this have a negative impact as well on the zoos?

what about nassarius snails? I know when I had a prob with zoos, the nassarius were eating them as they were dieing. I also found a very colorful zoa eating nudi hiding out in a colony. He blended in perfectly, matching the color of the zoa skirts. I also had a prob with pods irritating them causing withering. Hermit crabs were also feasting on the dieing zoa's causing they colony to "disappear"

For me, there was more than one prob that seemed to compound and it has taken me almost a month to get things under control.

yeah we checked it, dont see anything, not sure whats taking place now. dont think they will make it tho, we did a FW dip with some iodine for a last ditch effort to save them.

we do have nas snails and they were actually introduced about 2 days after this started to happen. and no signs of them anywheres near the zoo's

You probably have more sundial snails. I removed one off of my colony when I first got it. Now, 6 weeks later I noticed some were missing and I found again one! Grrr!
