They may be looking for the coral to be healthy before they ship it, but I highly doubt anyone is going to take the time to make sure they are pest free before selling. In many cases, it isn't so easy to tell something has a pest. I'm fighting off RB's right now because I got lax on my RB protection in QT (I know, these are the easiest of SPS pest, so it's not a major deal). QT everything... Once you have AEFW's, you won't ever question QT

I like doing them as separate dips (on separate days), but if most are doing both Interceptor and TMPCC at the same session, I may start doing that, too. Dip it all...

quarantine is a MUST. Dipping is only half-arsed IMO, not bad for seeing if there are any pests that immediately drop off, but really insufficient to remove them with much confidence.
As some have mentioned all you need is AEFW or Montipora Eating Nudibranchs, or something just once to make you change your ways. Oh yeah, and a local reef club buddy once told me "treat everything like it's infected regardless of who gave it to you". So while large operations like DrF&S, DrMac, Reefermadness, etc all benefit by not having pests is it really a risk you want to take? If Jesus Christ rose from the dead and offered you a coral you should QT it!

Dips aren't enough. I used full strength Interceptor for 10 hrs followed by TMPCC and got both red bugs and AEFW. Looking at an empty tank for 3 months drives home the need for QT. You can not trust "trusted sources" because many people have no idea they have AEFW for months if not years.
