For what kit? the elos kits are very nice, but don't give resolution that salifert does. I use both kits - I use elos to do quick approximate tests, and then salifert if I want to verify or get a more accurate number. Eg - elos Mg resolution is 100ppm unless you double the directions. What is salifert, 10ppm?

If just doing a quick check, I don't care what Mg reads as long as it's between 1200-1400 or whatever. But when I do my monthly testing of eveyrthing, I sit down and get a more accurate reading with other kits, usually all of them to compare against each other because I really don't trust any single test kit.

Either way, the Elos readings have always matched LaMotte and Salifert (I've only used Mg, kH, Ca by elos).

Used both for Ca and ease is the same.

Salifert has a finer resolution but does that accurate?

I have used both for some time now and prefer the Elos over Salifert. I never had any real issues with either kit with the exception of the Salifert nitrate kit (which was thrown away). They are pretty much neck and neck, but the Elos seem to be a higher quality and may be easier to use (depending on the user.)

I have all elos test kits for cal, alk, mg and i find that the cal regent #1 runs out fast because it's a small bottle and i haven't had a acurate reading from the elos mg kit, i've exchanged it twice. still really nice kits.
I think i'm going to salifert next time, it seems to be what most reefers use.

I have seen the ALK test kits for Salifert to be innacurate, I switched to Lamotte and my corals have never looked better

Is Lamotte and ELOS liquid or powder reagents? How quickly do the reagents react?
