Crazy Fight, Royal Gramma and Mystery Wrasse
Crazy, I just caught my Mystery Wrasse and Royal Gramma Locked at the mouths yanking each other around for what seemed like forever.
Man I thought these two were compatible but I guess not. It looks like the wrasse was winning after a shot to the eye. The gramma's eye doesn't look good at all. But It looks like it could heal if they leave each other alone. |

I also just added a Royal Gramma... My Mystery Wrasse went after him a little bit, but nothing crazy... Actually the Gramma held his ground and fought him off This morning would be day 2 of the Gramma, and I saw them pass by each other a few times, no problems....
My Mystery Wrasse also beat up on my Long Nose Hawk for 2-3 days.... Then it stopped... Though my FP Clown chased my hawk to his death out of the top of my tank.... |

I haven't seen them do it again. and it looks like that Gramma's eye is getting better.

I've heard great ways to avoid any sort of possible tank mate aggression is to add the new fish at night, with the lights out. Next morning when the lights come on, the fish act like the new addition has always been there. Of course this won't cure all problems with aggression...
