green algae
Well my tank is set up for over 2 months and I have lik 80Lbs of Caribbean LR in my tank along with like 100+lbs of Fiji live sand. anyway ever since the rock finished curing and I put it in the tank, it has green algae all over it.....the algae is just like a coating and not like hair. and well anyway it seems to really bloom durring the day when the metal hailds come on. My ammonia and nitrite and nitrate is at 0 and the SG is 1.025 everything is in check.
I have 2 turbo snails and the love the algae, but there is alot of surface area for them to cover and after they clean the algae if it is grown back the next day. what is causing this? will it go away? or should I just buy more snails? |

Are you using rodi water? I would look into checking phosphates as if they are high they can cause algae. Also how long do you leave your lights on during the day

I think I checked my phosphates the other day and I think they were ok.....but how do you lower them? I use bottled water....distilled from the grocery store b/c I dont have a ro/di unit yet. my light cycle is from 8am-8pm blue atinics, 10-6p metal halids, 8pm -8am blue moon LED's
