Bulkhead Help

I bought a used tank and upon removing the old bulkheads I found that the glass was chipped underneath one of them. When I install the new bulkhead should I apply some silicone to the chipped one?

The bulk head should have a rubber seal that sits between the glass and bulk head. I would try to Install a new seal or the one it came with If Its there and secure the bulk head. You can just pour a cup of water In there just enough to cover the bulk head and do a leak test.
