phosban reactor question
There are many different phosphate removers on the market, are they all created equal?

Probably not, but I don't know of any data on the various GFO medias' effectiveness. The Warner has gotten a lot of good reviews.
Many of them are based on the same raw material, but some manufacturers work to increase the porosity of the media, which would increase its effectiveness.

i'm about to set my phosban reactors up. i will be using rowaphos in one and carbon in the other you can feed the second one with the first one and not have to use two pumps, i cant remember off the top of my head but i think your suppossed to run it through the carbon first then into the rowaphos. somebody might want to correct me if i'm wrong.

Carbon first is probably a good idea.

I run mine inline
Pump > Reactor 1 (Carbon) > Reactor 2 (GFO) > Back to Sump Remember to rinse the dust off your media.... I use Rox carbon and Generic GFO from two part solutions. Its 1/2 the price and works great. I also use their bulk kalkwasser, but thats another setup. |
