Help with Powerhead (maxi-jet 1200)

So I put a maxi-jet 1200 near the bottom of my tank due to cyano growing to improve water flow. How the heck is it possible to not blow sand everywhere? Any tips?

Give your MJ1200 a "tune up" with a Sure Flow 1600 mod and mount it higher in your tank...
: )

I already have the shroud kit. How high up do you think I should put it in my tank? I believe my 90 gallon is 24" tall

Play with it until you find a " happy spot" ... as much flow as possible without disturbing to much...

Does soft coral not like it if my maxi-jet would send some waterflow towards them. Sorry but i'm three months new to this

Your Leather coral will love massive, indirect flow. I just fragged a coral much like your's and put the frag's in two different tank's, one of which is getting more flow than the other and the frag's in that tank are growing faster and show better P.E. ... Most coral prefere good flow : )
