Long Stringy Hair Algae
HELP. THIS IS BASIC STUFF GUYS AND GAL. HOW DO I GET RID OF LONG STRINGY HAIR ALGAE? LITTLE BUBBLES ON IT TOO. MY TANK HAS BEEN UP FOR 3 YEARS AND I JUST DID A WATER CHANGE.

My guess is you have phosphates. Have you tested for them? When I had it, I increased water flow, and reduced phospates and nitrates. Have to remember it is feeding on something.

IM CUTTING BACK ON MY LIGHTING TOO FROM 8 HOURS TO 4.5 HOURS
THAT WILL HELP PEOPLE? |

yes it will... but if you give you tank a 1 hour breack in hte middle of you photocycle it helps the same and you can keep you 8 hrs
