Will large angels such as an emperor or queen eat gorgonians?

Yes they can pick at them. Angels are 50/50. If you two of the same angels one can pick at corals and the other one might not touch them.

I would rather not chance it.

I would say yes. I believe those and sponges are there main diet in the wild.
