Lights out for algae control question?
I want to run a lights out period in my tank to try to drive back some algae. I might have green hair or maybe even dino. Regardless, do I just have to turn out the daylights or do I have to turn both daylights and actinics off too? I was going to just leave the actinics on if they do not matter.
Oh, before anyone asks. Yes I am running carbon and phosphate. I am doing my best to keep Alk and PH on the higher side. This has been a 2 month battle so far so I am progressing to this next step. |

Here's a thread about turning lights out. When I do it for algae reasons I don't leave any lights on. Just how I do it. I don't know how effective it would be if you left the actinics on. I am sure someone else could chime in on that
