Difference in tank size vs amount water

Well,my English is not good so I will try to do my best here.If in a 75 gal tank after the LS and LR are be added, I filled with water and all it takes to get full is 60 gal of water. When I going to add the livestock do I have to take in consideration the tank size or the amount of water inside?. eg- like the 2 INCH of fish for every 5 gal. Hope you guys understand what Im try to said. Thanks.....

Whene they give a tank size for a fish they do put LR and SB inaccount. Just be sure the fich is rated for your tank size not the amount of water you added.
Good ? though.

ok but what about when adding supplements or additives? For example something like (add 4 drops per gal) does this mean the tank size or the water inside? soory for my dumb question

For additives like alkalinity and calcium supplements, the amount of water in the tank is what's important. For a lot of supplements, the dosage amount is fairly flexible. We'd need to know what products you're using to help more.

First of all suppliment are always a last resort. If you use RO water do weekly , bi weekly , or monthly water changes. Dont overstock or overfeed and have a small amount of coral you shouldnt have to add any additive.
After your tank matures with age and your stock increases then additive may be neseccery but only if you have tested the water for all readings.
A new tank with enough LR and SB with the right cleanup crew and water changes should run just fine.
Well things like low flow , overfeeding , overstocking , not enough flow around rocks ( this can cause debris and uneatin food to collect and high nitrate readings over time), , not enough filteration like skimming can also cause problems.
Most problems can be corrected without adding additives.
