RO/DI - hookup in an apartment?
Anyone have suggestions since I can't just turn off the water and plumb it right in?
Faucet hookups out there? |

I have hooked up my RO/DI unit in three apartments so far, I always do it under the kitchen sink. There should be two valves underneath one for cold and one for hot water. I use the cold water, if they use PEX tubing (plastic tubing) for the water lines it is super easy. I think 1/2" PEX tubing is the standard so I just bought a t fitting at Home Depot that has 1/2" on two ends and 1/4" which is what the tubing on my RO/DI unit is, then I drill a small hole in the plastic drain below the garbage disposal and run the waste water line from my RO/DI unit.

Most units can be purchased with a faucet adapter. Take a look at www.thefilterguys.biz , they have just about all the adapters pictured here:

I have mine mounted on a small microwave cart and just run it to the tap with the faucet adapter. It works well for me.
