Go with Current USA, i like the brand better than Coralife. I have never had T5 but I have heard many people prefer T5 over compact all day everyday. So to me it sounds like a good match.

from an avid T5 user; go with T5's. From my experiences, coralife does not seem to have as solid of a rep as current when it comes to lighting.

The current's are a great product inmy opinion. I have the 2 X 150 MH and 4 T-5's on my 75 and couldn't be happier.... Works great and have not had any problems with it...

I'd like to jump in on this question as I was about to post a very similar one. I understand that there may be variability in quality or reliability of one brand vs. another, but I am trying to sort out the pros and cons of power compact vs. T5 HO. In comparing two fixtures of roughly the same wattage (one power compact and one T5 HO) why would one type be preferable to another. Also, does one type of bulb tend to have a longer usable life than the other? I believe I see more negative comments about compact lighting and more positive comments about T5s, but I am trying to understand the "why"s. Thanks
