pump recommendation

hello everyone,

i have a 29 gal sump and 72 gal tank that will at first have fowlr and later i will get into corals. i was planning on putting in a ocean runner 2500 (625 gph) which i think will give me around 335 gph. from the sump to the tank is around 4 feet and then i have 2 90 elbows and will Y that off so i have 2 exits. there is also a ball valve and check valve on the return pipe. will the OR 2500 be sufficient or should i go up to 900 gph??? please let me know, i want to order tomorrow

I would say the Ocean runner 2500 is a pretty good choice. To big of a return pump can cause micro bubbles to be a real pain.

I think that 335 gph is fine for flow through the sump. I wouldn't go any higher; I'd likely target more like 200 gph. The tank will need more flow, but I'd use powerheads or a closed loop.

Maybe consider an Eheim 1260.
