Fish with personality

I am setting up a 30 gal fish only tank in my office. I am looking for suggestions for fish that will be able to live in a long 30 gal tank (not the high one). Would like some color and personality. Please give me suggestions on which ones to look into.

Thanks

For a tank that size I would consider a jawfish and clownfish.

Don't know how big lawnmower blenny's get, but they have great personality. Also maybe a small angel, cherub or maybe a flame. I agree, I love my jawfish and clown, great characters.

I have a pink spot watchman in my reef...he's very interactive with me and cracks me up! If you go this route though, make sure you've got a good deep sand bed for sifting and stable rock-work for sleeping.

I had an orange toadfish in a 20L for years. He used to come out of the rocks and beg for food. Your tank would have been the perfect size.

You might also consider a green wolf eel blenny. I love mine, lots and lots of personality.

If you like puffers, consider on of the tobies or a larger green spotted puffer (>4"). They go to full salt as adults.

You could also put one or a pair of anglers in a tank that size. I like wartskins and pictus. I had a pair that spawned for me...

For color, drama AND personality, a peacock mantis!!!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I am looking up all these fish in Google to get an idea of what they look like.

Please keep the ideas coming.

Green spotted puffer would owrk but he has to be housed alone in that size tank.
Maybe a valentini puffer? They have personality.

Good point. GSPs are not really community tank fish AND they can get about 6" as adults. Still, they have lots of personality and are not very expensive.

I personally love flame angels, which also stay small. However, in a tank like that I would get an anemone and put a pair of clowns in. Maybe a cleaner or some other shrimp wo clean, but the two clowns hanging out in the anemone would be ausome.

I have always wanted to do this, but just havn't gotten around to it. Now that I have a decent size lion, my fish need to be bigger.

Good luck with what ever you decide!

Sorry, I didnt see stealth's input, but I obviously agree with the clowns and the nem...all involved have great color, as well as some of the best personality, IMO

hell, in a tank that size you could also focus on inverts. I enjoy my cleaner, porcelin crab, hermits, as well as my chocolate chip star!
