Koralia 1 problem - noisy!

Last night I cleaned out my Koralia 1 and I woke up to discover it making a lot of noise this morning. I opened up the housing and cleaned all the chaeto etc. out of it and wiped the scum of the impeller and shaft. I then put it back together and placed it back in the tank. I was in the room for several hours watching TV and it was fine. However, I got up this morning and imediately noticed an odd sound when I walked into the room. It was definitley the Koralia that was originating the sound so I pulled it out and disassembled and reassembled it again. Still very noisy. It sounds like a rattle of some sort, quite loud. It appears to be functioning okay, but seemed a little warm compared to usual when I pulled it out?

Any ideas on what to check or what might be wrong? Is it toast? It's only a few months old...
