I was suprised that my tap water measured 097. I expected it much higher. I guess something else makes it taste so bad.

my ro tested 10 with the free meter and my tap tested 100. The tap water reading surprised me! I am wondering if anyone here has a the free one and also a proven accurate one to compare the readings.. anyone?

Sounds like they are off. Either the ones that are testing from the DI needs to be changed are they arent right on. As soon asmy TDS on my RO/DI reads 001 I change the DI resign.

I have done two separate tests on two different days and both were very close together, I did not write down the measurments, though, so these are from memory:

Test 1:
Tap - mid 500 TDS
RO - mid 20 TDS
RO/DI - 000 TDS

Test 2:
Tap - high 400 TDS
RO - mid 20 TDS
RO/DI - 000 TDS

So I am happy with the accuracy.

I just got mine today (arrived in the mail on Fri though). The batteries were dead in the unit but worked when replacing them w/ the ones it came with. My reading off the tap was 150ish and my ro/di was 002. I'll test again after the unit has had a chance to warm up (it's been sitting outside in less than 10 degree weather.

make sure you are testing the water accurately. It needs to be at the correct temp to get a true reading....

My friend inline meter wes reading 0, when I used this meter on the water it was reading 7. So I guess it is time to get some calibration fluid.
