Mix PC & T5 lighting?
I currently have a 4x96w current outer orbit. I was going to also add a 2x39w T-5 retro to put towards the back of my corner tank. Would this be beneficial or worthless?
I would like more light so my LPS could grow better, but I just don't know if this is the way to go. Any advice is helpful. |

I would think that 4x39w T5 would generate more light than your 4x96w PC. Why waste electricity with the old fixture, just upgrade to all T5s. Make sure that you get the individual parabolic reflectors that surround each bulb as it make a world of difference on performance. Also, stick with the ATi and UVL bulbs only.

I used to have a 96W quad PC on my old tank, and upgraded to 2x24W T5s instead. The T5s blew away the PCs, the amount of light was not even close; Ive been sold on T5s ever since. Just get a new T5 fixture & get rid of the PCs
