400w mh's or more 250watters?

I'm upgrading my tank from a 4x18" to a 4'x4'. Currently I have 2 250w mh's with lumenarc mini's. This probably will not completely cover the 4 foot cube (4x4x2) but I dont really want to get 2 more 250's, but it still is an option.

An alternative is to get 2 400w mhs instead and just have them raised a bit so they cover a bit more area, whilst maintaining a similar intensity to the 250w'ers. I then only have to pay for 2 more ballasts (and 2 globes) as I can use my current reflectors. Any thoughts would help.

im guessing youll get alot of arguements about which way to go.
i dont know much about this subject but i have a 3x3x21 and the 250 /400 is a toss up for me. maybe since you have the 24 inches you might want the 400
