What's the best way to clean salt creep from Lumenarcs?

It seems that a wet paper towel just smears the salt and leaves a haze on the reflector. Any better ideas

I'd like to know also...tried vinegar, same thing--hazy. Dish soap, windex, etc etc same thing.

What about the inside material of an adult diaper? I'm sure Beefy or Frodo may have some extras

hansy-pm me your address and i can send you some unused lap sponges. we use them while doing surgery to soak up blood. they don't leave any lint behind. they are great for cleaning windows. not sure if they will work with the salt creep on the lumenarcs but you can give it a try.

moon jelly - Sounds good. Thanks

jjjimmy - I haven't tried that. Have you ever used it on reflectors before? I think the main ingredient is Oxalic acid, and I am not sure how that might react with the metal of the reflector. Another thing I am unsure about is what the Lumenarcs are made out of (Aluminum?) and if it is just highly polished, or if it is coated with something shiny

Hello
I use the glass sheilds, they are easier to clean than the reflectors. I have cleaned polished aluminium reflectors with hot water with a drop or two of calgon (dishwasher) soap... Years later I have come to find that cleaning the glass is much easier!

here, here. Glass is much easier to clean.

Hans, I cannot say for sure but I do believe that the reflectors like others are just high polished aluminum. I do not know for sure what affect the CLR would have on aluminum. I was just offering a suggestion.

Doug - Will the glass make a big difference in the light output? Should I just use tempered glass?

I am not Doug, but the galss on my (6) pendants don't seem to make a difference to me.

Hello
I'm using the glass that came with the LA's. It has a stamp in the corner (safty glass), my guess is that it's tempered. Han's you'll lose more light from a dirty/scratched up reflector!

All that I know is that it is UV glass. There are no markings on it that I can find. I am using the PFO mini pendants if that will help you find the kind of glass that is in them.

jjjjjimmys llllights are supposed to have glass, DE.

Why not just buy new reflectors every year?

2 rags/towels. 1 dry, 1 with warm water. Wash, dry, wash dry. Its kind of like wax on, wax off...
