missing watchman goby found in fuge, after 7 months MIA, also found pygmy angel

my tank is an aquapod 24, with the rear chamber turned into a fuge, earlier today i went to move up the filter floss to minimize the splashing sounds when at the corner of my eye i see my cherub angel thats been missing for 2 weeks, so i remove the filter floss and start thinking of a plan to net the angel in the tight space as i sit there staring at the angel i see a yellow streak go by, wondering what it was, i look in the corner and see a yellow watchman goby that has been missing since april. I couldn't believe that he was still alive. I don't know how the poor little fish dealt with the 24 hours of light and the days when i haven't trimmed the chaeto for weeks and it was jam packed back there.

That's pretty funny but I don't really see how you can lose fish in a 24 aquapod... lol

eek2: daaam i didnt know fish could do that...

once i found one of my pygmy angel in my fuge...it had been missing for a few months as well....after i took him out and put him back in the main tank the other pygmy started chasing him all around the tank (which he never did before), apparently he forgot his friend and i had to spend some time with a net in there trying to stopp the fighting.....It only took one night and they soon became reaquanted and all was well again..

I once found a black clown in my overflow that had been missing for more than 1 yr! It was on an Oceanic tank and the overflow was black. I religiously cleaned th overflow every week and never saw it until one day I saw a flash of white. I knew in my heart that I hadn't lost that fish, when it dissapeared ORP did not drop, and that left me confused. I thought I searched everywhere, oh well. I guess fish are hardier than we think. The water in that overflow flowed over and crashed down 2 feet below and was quite turbulant where the clown was.

yeah, its crazy, every two weeks i had that sump drained for about 15-20 minutes when i do water changes... I guess fish really are hardier then we think.

I lost a Lyertail Anthias in my overflow on my 90. It was in there for months..I'm guessing 4. The wife was shocked it survived..I said it was eating better then its tank mates. Everything that was skimmed into the overflow was its dinner. Took near an act of god to get it netted out of there though.

You're telling me, took me nearly an hour to net the two fish, i had to remove floss, chaeto, live rock rubble, heater, return pump, chiller pump. And then i had a whole 2 maybe 3 inch space to work the net around. It was a hard task.

i had a striped damsel go into the overflow without notice at work. he must have been there for months before we cleaned out the tank, but left the water in the sump. we didnt notice the little guy til i started up the tank about 3 weeks later. couldnt believe he went that long without food.
