Harvey
Just trying to figure out how to upload videos to photobucket and I thought I'd experiment with a little clip.
If this works....this is my Harvey. Isn't he just the cutest?? M

Yeah....you can almost hear him making "slurping" noises! He's my favorite guy in the tank! M

I had one and he got sucked into a powerhead. They're not very smart.

Hey Reeferman.....Harvey is a Sea Hare. We took him on almost a year ago to combat a hair algae problem (our LFS said that he really needed a tank to go into and that they'd starve to death). We were suckered and figured we had alot for him to eat! After he ate up all the hair algae (within 2 weeks!)...we were worried he'd starve. But...we found that he absolutely LOVES nori and algae wafers. He's been doing great!
I dunno Ralph....I don't think there's a powerhead big enough to suck this guy into.....he's huge! about 6" long when he stretches and about 2-3" in diameter around his rear! M

Well...you do have to be careful with them though. If they are injured or frightened...they can give off a toxin that can be dangerous. One thing you will have to make sure of is that they will have enough to eat. We have to put a whole sheet of nori in there for him every night. I've also read that they will eat certain sea grasses and macro-algae's. But I think they will clean out anything that is growing in the tank in short time. Maybe grow the macro in another tank so you have a good supply. Do alot of reading on the guy before you get one. Like I said....we are very lucky that ours eats the stuff we give him. We were told by many people that he would starve to death within months.

Thanks for the heads-up on that. I just looked-over our Seio powerheads in the tank and to me...I don't see anyplace possible where any part of him can get "sucked in". Maybe just as a precaution I'll put some screening around there. We don't want anything to happen to Harvey!

Well.....I originally wanted to call him "Mr. T" (T standing for 'turd'...because I said he looked like a big hairy turd crawling around the tank)....but....my husband didn't like that one! Can't imagine why???.....
Harvey is the name of the big invisible rabbit in the old Jimmy Stewart movie of the same title. Rabbit = Hare.....so we settled on Harvey. LOL! M
